I am looking for a course that will teach basic to advanced life saving techniques...?
...of course CPR is at the top of that list, but I would really like to be prepared in the event of an emergency. Can anyone please suggest something that may be a little more advanced that CPR training alone?

If your looking for more advanced than CPR, try ACLS. ACLS is "advanced cardiovascular life support." Call your local hospitals and ask about classes and certification, or look at the american heart association website.
