what is the cheapest way to ship a bike across the country? Utah-Georgia? Will bike shop box & ship it for u?
I need to have a bike shipped across the country from Utah to Georgia. It is a Mtn bike. i have no idea how to take it apart or box it. Will bike shops do this for you? Is it expensive? Any advice is much appreciated
Any bike shop will do that for you. Most will even provide the box, most probably the same box that they got when they received a bike from its manufacturer. Most often some parts are taken off the bike and packed in the carton to reduce the profile. Typically that is the wheels and the pedals. Sometimes the handle bar is taken off as well. Ask your bike shop about this. If you are not confident about reassembling what they've taken apart, have the bike shipped to a local shop in Georgia so they can put it back together for you.
